Lost in the Dark Forest of the open web

With all the buzz around generative AI, I am really curious what the future of the web as I perceive it will look like. If search engines can’t properly distinguish between human-written prose and generated content, how will search results not become a self-reinforcing cycle of the web we know today.

This article highlights my mood around this topic and makes me question whether I should show up more in meatspace.
