Knowing when to quit

Many media face this issue, with attempts to milk more from a successful product. This isn’t limited to media and occurs in software too. It should be acceptable to mark your project as feature complete, allowing for bug fixes and dependency updates, but not necessarily requiring further additions.

It feels like our culture’s impulse is to wring every last cent possible out of any creative endeavor — or at least leave open the possibility for more from the outset.
